Best Buddies- The local chapter is associated with an international nonprofit organization. The group pairs students with mental retardation in one-to-one friendships with their non-disabled peers. The goal is to establish foundations for genuine friendships, thus enriching the lives of all participants. Membership is open to all 9th through 12th grade students. The club will meet monthly.
FBLA- The Future Business Leaders of America is open to all Occupational Education students and provides them with an opportunity to explore business related careers, participate in community projects and business competitions. Key Club- Organized to promote pride and service to school and community, students participate in activities such as Open House Guides, Senior Citizen dinners, Toys for Tots, Walkathons and fundraisers.

Leo Club- LEO Club is a division of the Lion’s Club dedicated to assisting the blind. The acronym LEO stands for Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity. The main goal of the club is to provide services to the Shenendehowa community. Students meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Mentoring Program- Goal is to improve school performance and/or social interactions. This program pairs a high school student with a 6th grader on a weekly basis.
National Honor Society- This organization is open to seniors who are selected at the end of their junior year based on their average (90 or higher), character and leadership in classes and activities. The students volunteer as peer tutors, assist selling tickets at games and organize a social event in the winter. SCARCE- This environmental club educates students, staff and community on environmental issues through speakers (Earth Day) and recycling programs. World of Difference- The World of Difference Peer Training Program is designed to infuse the ideals of diversity within the school community.
Youth Court/Peer Mediation- Youth Court, sponsored by the Saratoga county Prevention Council, is a program designed to train student volunteers to perform the roles of judge, clerk, prosecutor, defender, foreperson and jury members in a peer sentencing court.

9-11th grades give a minimum of 20 hours community service per year- in areas such as supplying schools with spring water, after care volunteers, building projects, gardening and grounds, storm drain labeling, and tutoring.
