Food Pantry Volunteer- Volunteers needed for food pantry, 2x/week, 14 year olds or older. Volunteers assist with packing food orders for food pantry clients. The Pantry is open Tuesdays from 11-1 and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30. Assistance is also needed in the picking up of food from the regional food bank in Latham (roughly once a month) or other donations as they become available. Also, at times of large food drives (i.e. before Thanksgiving and Christmas) help is needed to sort food and check expiration dates. Flexible volunteer hours- as often as a few hours a week to as little as a couple of hours a month. Nonjudgmental individuals, a van or large vehicle for food pickups and a sense of humor is always helpful!
Program Assistant Volunteers- 18 year olds who pass the clearance requirements are allowed to work with the children. 16 year olds can do painting, cleaning and office work.
Volunteers age 14+ can assist with clean out days in the early fall; tree lighting event the first Friday in December helping with craft stations. Youth 16+ can help with Domestic Violence Awareness month in October hanging bows in the community.
