The Children’s Committee is a non-profit organization that helps meet emergency and basic needs of underprivileged kids in Saratoga County. The largest undertaking is the Empty Stocking Project. This project provides holiday gifts and necessities to about 1,000 children each year. Volunteers can help by sponsoring a child and by granting their holiday wishes.

Teens give an educated teen perspective on issues such as Safer Sex, Self-Esteem, Relationships, Communication, Drugs and Alcohol, Violence, Date Rapes, Homophobia, Discrimination, Sexual Harassment. Volunteers perform informed interactive presentations peer to peer on responsible decision-making about being a teen. Teen View frequently performs at youth conferences, school, parent-teacher organizations and churches.
The Saratoga Film Forum shows independent movies, foreign films and documentaries. We regularly pair films with speakers and other content such as suggested reading. We screen primarily in the evening. Volunteers, 10-12th graders, can assist at events by selling tickets and concessions, and setting up and putting away chairs. Volunteer opportunities for 16-18 year olds, throughout visitor season, late spring to early fall. Prefer ongoing commitment of volunteers, at least 4 hours per week. Responsibilities include: Greeting at visitor center, historical/costume interpretation, living history, tour guide at historical home or building (Schuyler House), telling story of Revolutionary War- Battle of Saratoga, and demonstrating crafts/skills of the times.
Saratoga Plan works to preserve open spaces and special places in our area for present and future generations. Trail maintenance, construction work, flyer distribution and beautification projects are available for volunteers of all ages.
