BACC provides essential community services, support and projects that enhance the social, emotional and recreational development of youth/families in the Ballston Spa area. Volunteer at after school and teen night events, help out with Board of Directors or volunteer at the “Volunteer Income Tax Assistance†program and learn important skills.
Ballston Area Recreation Commission (BARC)
Low cost recreational programs offered to deserving youth. There are many possible volunteer opportunities for youth ages 8-18- helping clean soccer and baseball fields and serving as assistants in the summer enrichment classes. The Brookside Museum inspires community memory and tells the story of Saratoga County. Volunteers can help with property clean up and clerical tasks during Tuesday-Friday 10-4 pm., Saturday 10-2 pm.

Volunteers to deliver meals to homebound citizens in Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Ballston Spa, Round Lake, Halfmoon, and South Glens Falls from 10:30-1:00pm weekdays. You can deliver once a week, twice a week, once a month, alone or with a parent or a friend.

Opportunities for 14-21 year olds in the Firefighter Explorer program through the Boy Scouts of America in Jonesville and other locations, 877-8100. Opportunities for 16-18 year olds as Junior Firefighters or Ambulance Corps Junior Members.
Saratoga County Children’s Committee
The Children’s Committee is a non-profit organization that helps meet emergency and basic needs of underprivileged kids in Saratoga County. The largest undertaking is the Empty Stocking Project. This project provides holiday gifts and necessities to about 1,000 children each year. Volunteers can help by sponsoring a child and by granting their holiday wishes.

Volunteers assist children or teens at Special Olympic events, encouraging them and praising them and acting as a peer role model. Training Clubs in Nordic Skiing, Aquatics, Bowling, Equestrian, Track and Field, Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf, and Alpine Skiing are offered.
